The former Circle Cinema property in Cleveland Circle will be redeveloped as a six-story mixed-use development including a 162-room hotel, 92 residential units and 14,000 square feet of ground-floor retail and restaurant space.
The $85 million, 218,520-square-foot project by Boston Development Group was approved last week following a three-year review by the Boston Redevelopment Authority. Designed by ADD Inc., the project includes 12 affordable residential units and 188 parking spaces on a 2.6 acre site straddling the Brookline and Boston line.
Boston Development Group agreed to pay $250,000 for improvements to the Cassidy Playground. The developers also agreed to install new sidewalks and lighting and work with the MBTA to improve traffic flow in Cleveland Circle.
