SSG Development LLC and New Boston Ventures LLC have proposed a five-building, mixed use development for 3521-3529 Washington St. in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood.

The development group notified the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) of its plans earlier this week.

The proposed 3.39-acre project includes 50,000 square feet of residential space in 42 units, a 130,000-square-foot storage facility and 28,000 square feet of retail space.

The project would be near the intersection of Washington Street and McBride Street, near the MBTA Orange Line.

The residential portion of the project will replace a metal warehouse and will be intended for new homebuyers. Six of the residences will be deemed affordable. The filing of the notification will now initiate review of the project by the BRA.

The developers claim the project will add about $400,000 in new property tax revenue to the city, create 70 full-time jobs and 250 construction jobs over the course of development.
