Greenfield Savings Bank has constructed an unusual ATM.

The latest ATM from Greenfield Savings Bank offers drivers along the Mohawk Trail this Keebler elf-styled “ATM tree.”

Dubbed the “GSB Money Tree,” the ATM’s curious home soars 25 feet high. The tree’s gnarled roots wrap around the drive-up money machine, and a huge overhanging mushroom shelters cars beneath it.

The unusual design is dotted with playful critters including a turtle, an owl and an eagle which are molded into the trunk – akin to a Disney attraction. Lush landscaping surrounds the structure which is located off Interstate 91 in Greenfield.

Situated in a pedestrian grocery store parking lot, the ATM has been in the making for two years. It opened June 14 and, according to bank president Rebecca Caplice, the ATM tree is meant to “add a bit of entertainment to an everyday errand.”
