John D. Morrell has been promoted to store manager at TD Bank’s Copley Square store at 535 Boylston St. in Boston.

In this role, Morrell is responsible for new business development, consumer and business lending, and managing personnel and day-to-day operations at the store serving customers throughout the Boston metro region, according to a statement.

Morrell, who has five years of banking experience, joined TD Bank in 2010 as assistant store manager. He previously worked at First Federal of Charleston in South Carolina.
