Mutual Bank, a community bank based in Whitman, has donated $2,000 to the Cotuit Athletic Association as a table sponsor for the Cotuit Kettleers Cape Cod League Baseball Team’s upcoming fundraising event.

The "Catch our Rising Stars" gala fundraiser will benefit the amateur team in its efforts to remain the sole Cape league team to maintain its playing field without use of public funds.

The Cotuit Athletic Association is a nonprofit organization that since 1950 has sponsored the Cotuit Kettleers Cape Cod League Baseball Team.

"We’re delighted to be able to assist in this worthy fundraising event," said William Morse, president of the bank.  "The Kettleers have long brought the enjoyment of baseball to the Cotuit community – it’s a piece of Americana we’re glad to have the opportunity to help maintain."
