Mutual Bank, a community bank with nine branches throughout Southeastern Massachusetts, will break ground Monday for its newest branch 342 Bedford St. in Whitman.

The new branch will be a 5600-square-foot, two-story building at the intersection of Bedford and Auburn streets. 

The location will employ 15 or more full- and part-time employees, with a satellite operations center on the second floor.

Mutual Bank is working with Kurt Raber of Brown, Lindquist, Fenuccio & Raber Architects of Yarmouth Port to design the property. The contractor for the project will be Coastal Construction Corp. of Duxbury. 

Mutual Bank will continue to maintain its headquarters and full service branch nearby at 570 Washington St. in Whitman Center.
