Laura Dorfman, of Newton, has been named senior vice president of residential lending at Needham Bank’s main branch.

Dorfman joins Needham Bank with more than 25 years of experience in mortgage banking. Prior to Needham Bank, she was employed at East Boston Savings Bank as senior vice president of residential mortgage and lending, responsible for all aspects of residential mortgage and consumer lending.

Dorfman received a bachelor’s degree from Providence College and a master of business administration at Bentley College. She is a member of the Massachusetts Mortgage Bankers Association.
