Jim Healy, associate general counsel at UMass Medical School in Worcester, has been appointed to Needham Bank’s advisory board.
As a member of the board, Healy will help guide the policy and direction for Needham Bank.
A lifelong resident of Needham, Healy served six years on the Needham Board of Selectmen and seven years on the town’s finance committee. He presently sits as a Town Meeting member and is co-chair of the senior center exploratory committee.
"Having grown up in Needham and offered public service for 17 years, I have come to know Needham Bank as a fine and reputable institution," said Healy, in a statement. "I am deeply honored to have the opportunity to serve a bank that has so well served the citizens of Needham; it is an institution that consistently endeavors to give back to the community, illustrated by its willingness to donate to any number of causes.
