James Roberts, of Wellesley, has been promoted to vice president of compliance at Needham Bank’s main office in Needham.

In this new role, Roberts, who previously held the position of compliance officer at Needham Bank will assist in developing, administering and monitoring programs that ensure compliance with laws, regulations and rules that govern the bank’s operations and product offerings. In addition, he will assist in developing training and continuing education programs in concert with specific functional areas to maintain the bank’s compliance.

Prior to joining Needham Bank in 2010, Roberts was a compliance manager with ICS compliance; previous to that post he held the title of compliance officer at Capital Crossing Bank.
