Dover BranchNeedham Bank plans to open a branch in Dover at the current site of a Bank of America.

Bank of America will close its lone Dover branch at 60 Centre St. on June 27. The bank will vacate the site on July 31, and Needham Bank hopes to open in that location shortly after, Eric Morse, senior vice president at Needham Bank, told Banker & Tradesman in an email.

"We are thrilled to announce the opening of our Dover branch," Morse said in a statement. "We are confident that this new location will help strengthen our relationships with the families, businesses and community organizations in Dover."

The Dover branch will be the mutual bank’s sixth location.

"Dover, with a population of 5,600 and more than 1,850 households, deserves ready access to banking services right in town," Jack McGeorge, Needham Bank CEO and chairman of the board, said in a statement. "We already enjoy significant market share in the town and have relationships with many Dover families that stretch back several generations. Having a presence in the town underscores our commitment to building communities."
