Bank of New York Mellon Assistant Vice President/Community Investment Officer Christopher R. Harris and Boston University School of Social Work Professor Gail S. Steketee have joined the existing 16 members on the Metropolitan Boston Housing Partnership’s (MBHP) board of directors.

MBHP’s board meets quarterly to govern the activities of MBHP by establishing broad policies and objectives consistent with MBHP’s mission.

"I’m very much looking forward to working with Gail and Chris," said board Co-Chair Steven Rioff. "They bring a wealth of experience to the board and certainly will enrich the furthering of MBHP’s mission."

Harris has served as BNY Mellon’s community investment officer for a little more than a year. Prior to that, he was the senior policy advocate for economic development for the Massachusetts Association of Community Development Corporations. He also has more than six years’ experience in the banking industry, having worked for Citizens Bank of Massachusetts, Boston Private Bank & Trust Co. and Bank of America.

Steketee has been a Boston University School of Social Work faculty member since 1986, starting as an associate professor and advancing to associate dean for academic affairs, full professor, and then chairperson of the school’s Clinical Practice Department. She holds both a master’s degree and a doctorate from the Bryn Mawr Graduate School of social work and social research.
