Nitsch Engineering has been awarded first honorable mention in Boston’s 13th Annual Canstruction competition.
Using this year’s theme, "Eat the Art," the firm’s team used more than 1,500 cans of food to build a three-dimensional sushi platter, complete with nigiri and maki, ginger and wasabi, chopsticks, and a six-foot-tall bottle of soy sauce.
At the close of the event, all of the cans were donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank.
"Nitsch Engineering is committed to supporting our employees in making positive contributions to our community and environment. As a result, we participate in a number of charitable events, and Canstruction is one of our favorites," said Lisa A. Brothers, PE, LEED AP, vice president and COO of Nitsch Engineering.
Nitsch Engineering’s team was lead by Project Designer Michelle DiBenedetto, EIT, LEED AP. Participants included Jerry Blumenthal, PE, LEED AP; Chelsea R. Christenson, PE, LEED AP; Alexander Diotte, PLS; Joyce A. Husseini, LEED AP; Deborah M. Katzman, PE, LEED AP; Anna N.
