Columbia Construction Co. of North Reading has been awarded a contract to provide construction management services to expand Cell Signaling Technology Inc.’s Beverly operation.

Cell Signaling Technology, a manufacturer and distributor of antibodies and related reagents for biomedical research, is headquartered in Danvers.

The project architect is DTA Architects. The engineering team includes 2020 Engineering (MEP), Goldstein / Milano (structural), and Hayes Engineering (civil).

Columbia has worked for four months on preconstruction, and will move on to the construction phase, which includes renovations and upgrades to 22,000 square feet of lab and office space. The project’s scope also includes significant MEP and utility upgrades, as well as site work.

Columbia Construction served as CST’s construction manager for the renovation of its Danvers headquarters in 2006. The project consisted of the adaptive-reuse of the former King’s Grant Inn to renovate 105,000 square feet of new laboratory and office space.
