Piedmont Office Realty Trust has acquired 1 Wayside Road in Burlington, the headquarters of Nuance Communications, for $67.4 million from Chambers Street Properties of Princeton, New Jersey.

Full-building tenant Nuance, developer of the Dragon speech recognition application, renewed its lease for 12 years last October.

The 188,000-square-foot office building was built in 1988. Chambers Street Properties acquired it in 2010 for $28.6 million.
