Thomas O'LearyHyde Park Savings Bank has appointed Thomas E. O’Leary and Thomas R. Sommerfield to head up the bank’s newly-created commercial lending division.

O’Leary has been named executive vice president for commercial banking, responsible for all commercial loan origination. Sommerfield will serve as chief credit officer.

O’Leary, of Westwood, has been in banking in New England for more than 30 years. He most recently served as executive vice president and group executive – specialized banking for Citizens Bank. Before joining Citizens Bank in 2002, he worked for almost 25 years for BankBoston, which in 1999 became Fleet Bank.

Sommerfield, who has been named senior vice president – chief credit officer, has worked in financial services for more than 30 years.
