Douglas J. Packard has joined Bancnorth Investment Group Inc. as a financial advisor based in the TD Banknorth store in South Hadley.

In his new role, Packard will provide individualized retirement and financial planning, including individual retirement accounts, managed money programs, portfolio review, annuities, mutual funds, life insurance, long-term care insurance, wealth accumulation and retirement plans for individuals, families and small businesses throughout the Springfield region, Bancnorth said in a statement.

Packard has 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Bancnorth Investment Group, he worked at Massachusetts Mutual Life and Ameriprise Financial Advisors.  Packard was a Certified Public Accountant in the financial reporting and investment departments of the Travelers and Phoenix Mutual.
