Panera Bread franchisees Mitchell Roberts and David Peterman have reached an agreement to open up to 15 Blaze Fast Fire’d Pizza locations in Greater Boston.
Their company, ASAPizza LLC, is looking for urban storefronts in the 2,500-square-foot range near colleges, entertainment venues and medical centers.
The company uses an assembly-line format to cook pizzas on an open-flame oven in the center of the restaurant in less than three minutes. The 11-inch thin-crust pies are priced under $8. Menu items also include salads, craft beer and wine and desserts.
Headquartered in Pasadena, Calif., Blaze Pizza was founded by Elise and Rick Wetzel, and its investors include NBA star LeBron James and Boston Red Sox co-owner Tom Werner.
Roberts and Peterman own 34 Panera Bread franchises in Massachusetts, Maine and New Hampshire.
