Whitinsville-based UniBank has hired Suzanne Parsons and John E. Mannila.

Parsons joins as senior vice president and director of human resources and training. In the role, she is responsible for strategic initiatives related to compensation, benefits and recruitment for UniBank and its subsidiaries, UniBank Fiscal Advisory Services Inc., Sterling Assoc. and UniPayDirect.

Throughout her 25-year career in human resource management, Parsons has worked in the health care industry and for multiple Massachusetts-based national and global organizations. She is a board member of the Girls Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts and a volunteer for Operation Friendship, a youth exchange program between European and American families.

Mannila has joined the UniBank’s commercial lending team as vice president. In his role, Mannila is responsible for the management of existing business relationships and seeking new relationship opportunities. Mannila has more than 20 years of commercial lending experience and serves on the board of trustees at the EcoTarium.
