Josh McDanielsOn-again, off-again, on-again New England Patriots Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach Josh McDaniels looks to be staying put for at least a little while after purchasing a $2.29 million home in Westwood with his wife, Laura.

The 9,810-square-foot home on 1.32 acres at 6 Fox Meadow Drive was purchased from GD Fox Meadow LLC, according to data obtained from The Warren Group, publisher of Banker & Tradesman. The five-bedroom, 5.5-bath home was constructed last year, and features a fireplace and three-car garage.

The home and land were assessed at $959,100 for 2012, according to The Warren Group.

McDaniels originally joined the Patriots in 2001 as a defensive coaching assistant. He moved into coaching as an assistant in 2002, and after two seasons was named New England’s quarterbacks coach in 2004. The club promoted him to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach on Jan. 20, 2006.

During his three years (2006-08) as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, McDaniels directed a New England offense that led the NFL in points per game (28.8) while ranking second in the league in yards per game (370.8).

McDaniels left New England to become head coach of the Denver Broncos in 2009. He served as the offensive coordinator for the St. Louis Rams last season, before being brought back to the Patriots as an offensive assistant just before a playoff matchup against his former Denver squad. New England won the game handily en route to the Super Bowl.

In advance of the upcoming 2012 campaign, McDaniels has re-claimed his prior title of offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach, taking over the role from Bill O’Brien, who left the team to replace Joe Paterno as head coach of the Penn State Nittany Lions.
