Braintree Cooperative Bank’s board of directors has elected Paul M. Pecci president.
Pecci will take the reins in a transition the bank predicts will last 18 months. He succeeds David O’Brien, who has been president for nine years. O’Brien will become vice chairman of the board and CEO.
Pecci was hired as Braintree CoOp’s treasurer in 1989. The bank’s board elected him president in January.
"My goal is to continue to follow the vision and strategy we built together and to further strengthen the bank’s role in the community," Pecci said in a statement.
