The board of Haverhill’s Pentucket Bank has elected Kendall C. Smith chairman, and Scott D. Cote was promoted to chief executive officer in addition to his role as president.
Smith will replace Edmund J. Cote as chairman. Cote will remain as a board member.
"Ken is an icon in the local community. As the Bank’s ambassador, Ken will remain actively involved in the communities that Pentucket Bank serves," said Cote.
Pentucket Bank has assets of $605 million. In 2009, the bank originated $103 million in commercial loans and $52 million in mortgage lending, and attracted $92 million in deposits.
In addition to Haverhill, Pentucket Bank has branches in Salem and Hampstead, N.H.
