Pentucket Bank will soon begin construction of a new Haverhill branch for the relocation of its present RiversEdge branch.

Last week, a ground breaking ceremony was held for the bank’s new site. The soon-to-be former "RiversEdge" branch will be renamed the "Stadium Branch" due to its close proximity to the Haverhill Stadium, according to a statement. The new facility will be 5,800 square feet compared to the 1,728 square feet of the RiversEdge branch.

"We are in desperate need of a larger, full-service facility to provide more convenience to our customers in the Riverside area of Haverhill," said Pentucket Bank President and CEO Scott Cote. "This future two-story brick building will boast two drive-up banking bays, drive-in and walk-up ATMs, in addition to the traditional services currently being offered at the RiversEdge branch. [It] will also include a conference room and a complete basement for much-needed storage as well as a two-stall garage on site where the bank can house its messenger van overnight."

Loren Dubois of Maple Leaf Construction, Angelo Petrozzelli of Design Partnership Architects and Paul Bergman of Bergman Assoc. are leading the bank’s construction project. It’s expected the actual breaking of ground will occur by Sept. 1, with a completion date in the spring of 2011, according to a statement.
