Perkin Elmer Inc. today announced it has opened a second manufacturing facility in Boston. 

According to a statement, the company added capacity to keep up with demands for its synthetic drug compounds.

Perkin Elmer inaugurated its first facility in late 2008 in Boston, and has now doubled its capacity for Good Manufacturing Practice-based services, due to increased client uptake throughout 2009.
