City of Boston: Office of Housing Stability

Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh recently announced that Lydia Edwards has been appointed as head the newly-formed Office of Housing Stability. As a deputy director within the Department of Neighborhood Development, Edwards will be responsible for programs to assist Boston residents in housing crisis. Additionally, the office will be responsible for collecting eviction data, evaluating for trends and responding accordingly. Edwards comes from Greater Boston Legal Services, where she worked as the equal justice works fellow.

 

Direct Federal Credit Union

Direct Federal Credit Union has hired Georgia Bitsikas as operations associate. Bitsikas’s main responsibility will be overseeing and processing member bank by mail transactions and other transit items. Before joining Direct Federal, Bitsikas worked in the operations department at Belmont Savings Bank.

Michael Tartarini has joined East Cambridge Savings Bank as a financial services executive. Tartarini brings over 15 years of experience in finance. He will be out of the branches located in Belmont, Medford, Somerville and Waltham. Tartarini most recently worked as a sales manager and financial advisor at Prudential in Boston. He holds FINRA Series 7, Series 63, Series 66 and life accident and health licenses.

Mechanics Cooperative Bank has announced Michael A. Ferrara Jr. has been appointed as senior vice president and senior lending officer. In his new role, he will be responsible for the day-to-day oversight and administration of the bank’s loan portfolio including overall sales and policies and procedures to ensure the quality of bank lending assets and adherence to required regulations. Ferrara joins the bank with over 30 years of banking experience and is involved with numerous community organizations.

  • Kevin O’Rourke, Senior Estimator: O’Rourke brings 30 years of experience in the construction industry and has provided construction management services in the athletic and health care industries.
  • Stephen Harper, Senior Estimator: Harper brings 31 years of experience providing construction management services in the academic industry.
  • William Guzowski, Senior Project Manager: Guzowski brings 24 years of construction experience in the health care, life sciences and higher education sectors.
  • Samuel Vaughan, Assistant Project Manager: Vaughan has six years of experience in the construction industry and has worked on various projects for the state of Florida.
  • Tyler Greene, Assistant Project Manager: Green has four years of experience in the construction industry and has worked on several varied projects.
