Casey Piche has been promoted to director of leasing and development at Bierbrier Development Inc., a Lexington-based developer and owner of urban shopping centers.

Piche, who previously served as director at the firm, joined Bierbrier Development in July 2006 and has been responsible for leasing Bierbrier Development-owned shopping centers.

"In his new position as vice president of leasing and development, Casey will be responsible for not only leasing negotiations within the Bierbrier Development portfolio, but also spearheading researching and evaluating new development opportunities for the company," said Len Bierbrier, president of Bierbrier Development. "Casey earned his promotion through his hard work and dedication, and we congratulate him on behalf of the Bierbrier team."

Prior to joining Bierbrier Development, Piche served as vice president of regional business development at John Hancock Funds, Boston.
