Prepare to see a lot more Pret A Manger around the Hub.
The London-based sandwich shop chain that already has a presence in Boston is looking to expand with at least a dozen cafes in Boston and Cambridge over the next four to five years.
"We would like to maintain a pace of opening a minimum of three new locations a year for the next four to five years," said Joseph Iazzetta, vice president of store development for Pret A Manger USA, in a statement. "Our growth plans as it relates to the Boston/Cambridge area is to seek out the best real estate opportunities at a measured, yet aggressive pace."
James O’Mara, an attorney representing Pret A Manger as it branches out, told Banker & Tradesman one location will be at 101 Arch St. in Boston’s Downtown Crossing at a former Men’s Wearhouse. The other locations have not yet been determined.
The private equity-backed firm currently has three locations in Boston, including two on Boylston Street in the Back Bay and one in Post Office Square.
"That’s been a good success opening up there," Pret A Manger CEO Clive Schlee told Bloomberg last year about the firm’s initial Boston push.
