An Occupy Boston protester says recent arrests associated with the encampment are hurting the movement’s mission.

The Boston Herald reports that on Friday, undercover police arrested three men on drug charges after a deal that began at the downtown tent city and ended near a local homeless shelter.

Police also say several unruly homeless people have been removed from the Dewey Square site, including one accused of wielding a knife. And Boston police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said police are investigating reports of Occupy Boston-related vandalism, and expect arrests soon.

Protester Mike Ippolito said weapons, drugs and alcohol have no place at Occupy Boston and the arrests are damaging the movement’s mission, which includes fighting economic inequality.

He said people at Dewey Square have a responsibility to act "beyond" their best behavior. (AP)
