Anne Bonaventura, vice president/market manager at Amesbury-based The Provident Bank, has been elected chair of the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce & Industrial Foundation.

Bonaventura will serve a one-year term at the organization where she plans on "challenging" the economic climate "by continuing to forge strong public-private partnerships; encouraging business development to expand the tax base; creating jobs; supporting our youth with good schools; and making Amesbury …. the destination in the Merrimack Valley for shopping, dining and tourism," she said.

Bonaventura serves as the principal business development officer for The Provident Bank’s retail and business products and services in the Amesbury market, according to a statement. She joined the bank in 2005 as assistant vice president/branch manager for the Haverhill Road branch in Amesbury.

Bonaventura previously held the position of vice-chair of the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, served as chair of the membership committee and also as a member of the golf and nominating committees.
