Boston’s Putnam Mortgage Opportunities Co. filed with federal regulators on Tuesday to raise up to $300 million in an initial public offering of common stock.
The company told the Securities and Exchange Commission in a preliminary prospectus that Barclays Capital was underwriting the IPO.
It did not reveal how many shares it planned to sell or their expected price.
The company invests in residential mortgage-backed securities for which the principal and interest payments are guaranteed by a government agency or a government-sponsored entity. (Reuters)
