Samuel A. Read of Mashpee has been re-elected to a new three-year term as a director of Mutual Bank.

In this role, he will help guide the policy and direction for the mutually-owned bank.

Read, who lived in West Bridgewater before moving to Mashpee seven years ago, was first elected to the board of directors of Security Federal Savings Bank in 1978. After serving 28 years as a director of the Brockton-based mutual institution, he helped oversee the transition when it merged with Mutual Bank in 2006. He also serves as a member of the board’s executive committee.
