Reading Co-operative Bank has hired Jeffrey Camenker as vice president and compliance officer.

Camenker, an attorney, was most recently vice present of compliance at Stoneham Bank.

Camenker is a Reading resident and said in a statement that he has been a Reading Co-operative customer for "many years."

"With the current regulatory environment it is crucial that we create an effective compliance department and he was a clear choice to lead our team," said Julieann Thurlow, the bank’s president and CEO.
