Reading Co-operative Bank has donated $2,000 to the Stoneham Theater for its young company summer program.

The bank’s sponsorship provided scholarships to students for the summer drama program at the theater, according to a statement. The young company at Stoneham Theatre is a year-round live theater program for students in grades 1-12, offering students the chance to learn in a professional theater environment and to perform.

"The bank’s goal was to offer students that might not otherwise be able to attend the camp the opportunity to expand their knowledge and love of theater arts," said Shanna Cahalane, director of marketing at Reading Co-operative Bank.
