Nearly two in every five Massachusetts Realtors say they’re concerned about the impact Massachusetts’ public transit problems will have on their clients.

In its monthly “Hot Topic” survey, the Massachusetts Association of Realtors asked its members how concerned they were that the current and future condition of the public transportation system would affect their clients.

Of those who responded, 13 percent said that they were very concerned that the current and future condition of the public transportation system will affect their clients. Twenty-six percent said they were somewhat concerned, and another 26 percent said they were neutral that the current and future condition of the public transportation system will affect their clients. The remaining 35 percent said they were not concerned that their clients would be affected.

A poll conducted earlier this year found nearly one-fourth of Greater Boston residents have considered moving to another state due to frustration with their commute and 30 percent reported searching for a new job due to growing commute problems. Sixty-six percent said action is “urgently needed” to improve the state’s transportation system compared to the 21 percent that said they thought the system was working “pretty well.”
