Boston Mayor Martin Walsh is asking the public for ideas to enhance the use of Boston’s City Hall Plaza.
The city of Boston is accepting submissions from individuals and businesses for “ReEvent the Plaza” to encourage creative uses for the public space. Proposed events can be small or large, but must be open to the public.
Submissions will be accepted through July 3. Winners will be able to use the 200,000-square-foot plaza for free, unless additional security, insurance or other support is needed. Applicants can use #ReEventThePlaza to share ideas on social media, or at reeventtheplaza.com.
“From businesses in the area, to a student on summer break, to a resident with a great idea, we hope to see ideas from everyone,” Walsh said in a statement. “This is truly an open opportunity for all to create a more welcoming and world class space for the public.”
