Burlington-based Erland Construction has begun work upgrading Springfield College’s Locklin Hall, the school’s main classroom building.

Renovations to the three-story, 64,960-square-foot building, which houses classrooms and administrative offices, will include partial window replacement; a new energy efficient, code-compliant white roof; exterior masonry restoration; a new stairwell addition; lobby upgrades on each floor; and other floor plan reconfigurations.

Erland will work with Springfield-based Jablonski DeVriese Architects to make the renovations over the summer. All work will be completed before students return for classes in early September.

The building will remain partially operational throughout the construction.
