Income earned from the sale of annuities at bank holding companies rose to $640.9 million, according to a report from the American Bankers Insurance Association.
This is a 10 percent increase from the $582.6 million earned in the first quarter and an 8 percent increase from the $593.1 million earned during the same time period last year, according to a statement. However, first-half annuity commissions of $1.22 million decreased 7.8 percent from the $1.22 billion in first half 2009.
