Rockland-based certified public accounting firm Needel, Welch & Stone P.C. (NWS) recently held its annual volunteer day at Duxbury’s Crossroads for Kids, a local nonprofit.
Crossroads for Kids provides young people from at-risk environments a safe haven through the camp’s summer programs and campsite, Camp Wing, according to a statement. During their volunteer day, NWS staff helped "winterize" the camp’s kitchen, cleaned and painted rooms throughout the facility and helped with exterior maintenance.
"We’ve been in business since 1964 and a huge part of our success [is] the people and businesses on the South Shore," said Kevin White, NWS managing principal. "When you are vested in the community for as long as we have been, you not only feel compelled to give something back, you really want to."
