rocklandtrustLater this month, Rockland Trust’s summer reading program for children, Reading Makes Cent$, will begin for the third year in a row.

Students in Rockland Trust’s market area who participate in the program can earn $2.50 in a Rockland Trust savings account for each book they read, up to a maximum of 10 books, according to a statement. Students who read at least four books will also earn an invitation to an end-of-summer ice cream party hosted by Rockland Trust.

"Rockland Trust is delighted to present the Reading Makes Cent$ program to the children in our community," said Chris Oddleifson, president and CEO. "Our program encourages children to practice their reading skills during the summer and teaches them the value of saving their money in a bank account."

Students entering the first through eighth grades in the fall are eligible for the program.
