Spencer Savings Bank has made Douglas Schmeling vice president and credit officer.
Schmeling, an Auburn resident, has been with the bank since 2009, and was promoted from assistant vice president and credit officer.
Before Spencer Savings, Schmeling worked at Bay State Savings Bank and Commerce Bank and Trust Co., both based in Worcester.
"We are very confident in the work that Doug brings to the table. During his time as Assistant Vice President, he assumed all his responsibilities with a professional manner and was a delight to work with," K. Michael Robbins, president and CEO, said in a statement.
Spencer Savings is an independent, mutual savings bank and has offices in Spencer, Leicester, Rutland and Warren, as well as a business banking center in Worcester.
