Schmidt Joins Eastern Bank’s Commercial Real Estate Arm

Alex Schmidt Boston’s Eastern Bank has named Alexander W. Schmidt a vice president and relationship manager in the bank’s commercial real estate division.

Schmidt, who lives in Brookline, brings almost 20 years of experience in the commercial real estate lending and mortgage banking industries to Eastern Bank, according to a statement.

Prior to joining Eastern, Schmidt was a managing partner at Vector Capital/Parkview Partners LLC, a boutique real estate finance firm located in Guilford, Conn. Schmidt spent six years originating balance sheet and conduit loans for CIBC and also worked for GE Capital Real Estate and the Insignia/Edward S. Gordon Co., all in New York, N.Y.
