The New England College of Business and Finance recently presented Richard L. Rowe Jr., president and chief operating officer of Scituate Federal Savings Bank, the 2009 Outstanding Faculty of the Year award.

The honor was presented at the school’s 100th graduation ceremony.

"We here at Scituate Federal Savings know more than anyone else of Dick’s outstanding abilities as a teacher, advisor, and advocate," said Joseph C. Hayes, chairman and chief executive officer at Scituate Federal Savings Bank. "It is most pleasing to see that these attributes are recognized by others."

Rowe began teaching at what was then the New England Banking Institute in 1976. For over 30 years Rowe has served the college as an adjunct instructor, subject matter expert, advisor, advocate and member of the academic governing board.
