Shirley-based Senate Construction Corp. it has been hired to renovate a science lab at Mount Alvernia High School in Newton.
The project includes new electrical, gas and plumbing systems that will service all new lab casework, workstations, equipment and fume hood along with a new ceiling, lighting, flooring and paint. The lab is designed to allow for either a lab or lecture seating arrangement.
The project architect is Norwell-based Habeeb & Assoc. Architects Inc. The project manager is Senate Construction’s Jon Karp.
The renovation is scheduled for completion in August, just before the new school year starts. Ann Marie Procopio, director of interior design at Drummey Rosane Anderson Inc, is working with Senate and the school on a pro-bono basis to select colors and finishes. Procopio has worked with Mount Alvernia High School on several projects over the past 10 years.
“It is a beautiful lab project,” Bob France, president of Senate Construction, said in a statement. “We are very pleased to be working with Mount Alvernia High School officials and Habeeb & Assoc. Architects on this project.”
Mount Alvernia is a Catholic high school serving girls in trades seven through 12.
