Several employees have been promoted, following the merger of Commonwealth National Bank in Worcester with United Bank.
Kara Wiersma, formerly assistant branch manager of Commonwealth National Bank’s Shrewsbury office, is now a United Bank personal banker at the Whitinsville office.
A Whitinsville resident, Wiersma joined Commonwealth National in 2003 as a teller in Shrewsbury. She was promoted to assistant branch manager in 2006.
Wiersma has a bachelor’s degree in management from Boston University.
Blackstone Valley residents Jill Wardle and Lori Kostiw, formerly branch managers at Commonwealth National Bank’s Whitinsville office, have joined the commercial banking team as vice presidents and cash management specialists.
In the new role, Wardle and Kostiw will work with commercial banking officers and personal bankers in establishing and maintaining relationships with business customers, civic and community organizations, local government and professional associations throughout the Worcester region.
Wardle has 15 years of experience in financial services, most recently as a branch manager with Commonwealth National Bank, a position she held previously with Flagship Bank & Trust Co.
Kostiw also has 15 years of management experience in the financial services field. She was a branch manager with Commonwealth National Bank for the past five years, and held that same position for the 10 previous years at Flagship Bank & Trust Co.
