Brian Stys, a 16-year Shawmut Design & Construction veteran, has been promoted to the newly created position of vice president of marketing and business development at the firm’s Boston office.
The position will bring together the firm’s existing regional and national marketing and business development resources to create a new corporate department.
Based out of Shawmut’s Boston headquarters, Stys and his team will have a strong focus on advancing Shawmut’s unique brand identity in the national hospitality and retail markets and in Shawmut’s regional institutional and commercial markets, the firm said.
"We are fortunate to be able to select someone with Brian’s skills and experiences from within our current leadership team to step in and fill this very important role for the company," said Tom Goemaat, Shawmut’s chief executive officer.
Stys is a board member with Boston-based Community Servings, and is a past board member of the Anthony Spinazzola Foundation. He is an active member of the Zeta Beta Tau Alumni Association, and is a former co-chairperson of the AT Children’s Project annual Gift of the Heart Gala.
