Lawrence Siskind has been elected chairman of the board at HarborOne Credit Union.
Siskind is a life-long resident of Brockton and has been a attorney for the past 45 years. He conducts his law practice with his son Neal at Siskind & Siskind LLC in Brockton.
He was a 1960 graduate of Brockton High School. In 1964, he earned a bachelor’s of science in business management from Boston University and a juris doctorate from Suffolk University Law School in 1967, where he was an associate editor of the school’s first law review. Siskind has been an active member in the Plymouth County and Massachusetts Bar Associations and received the Community Service Award in 2007.
He has always been active in the city’s civic affairs and presently serves as a trustee of the Brockton Historical Society where he was chairman for 10 years; a founding director of the Boys & Girls Club of Brockton; a director of the Brockton Area Private Industry Council and a director of the Metro South Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, the Brockton High School Alumni Association presented him with its distinguished alumni award for his dedication and commitment to the betterment of the Brockton community.
