Martha Sloan Felch, of Newton, has been named senior relationship manager in commercial banking at Blue Hills Bank.

Formerly a commercial banker with Sovereign/Santander Bank (and its predecessors Fleet and Shawmut Bank), Sloan Felch brings more than 25 years of commercial banking experience to Blue Hills Bank. Prior to joining Shawmut Bank, she served as a product manager for Saddlebrook Corp. and as a marketing services manager for The Boston Five Cents Savings Bank.

She will report to Thomas O’Leary, executive vice president for commercial banking.

"Anyone with an eye on the local banking environment can’t help but notice that there are big changes underway at the former Hyde Park Savings Bank, now Blue Hills Bank," said Blue Hills Bank President and CEO William Parent. "Of all the changes evident in our transformation, I expect the investments we are making to build strong commercial banking capabilities will be the most obvious.

"Serving the needs of local businessmen and women is my top priority," added Parent. "That starts with ensuring that we have top flight staff with the experience to evaluate the credit needs of small and mid-sized companies in our market areas. Martha is a terrific addition to the team."
