Boston-based First Trade Union Bank has been ranked among the top lenders in Massachusetts and the New England region by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for the fiscal year that ended September 30.

The bank ranked in the top 10 in Massachusetts and the top 15 in New England in both 7(a) loans and 504 programs.  According to the SBA Massachusetts District Office FY 2013 Loan Volume Report, First Trade Union Bank ranked 7th in total loans and 8th in total dollars for 7(a) loans in Massachusetts and 15th in total loans and 11th in total dollars for 7(a) loans in New England. It also placed 4th in total loans and 5th in total dollars for 504 third party loans in Massachusetts and 8th in total loans and 13th in total dollars for 504 third party loans in New England.

"We compete against some very large national and regional players, which makes our standing even more impressive," Anina Butler, senior vice president of SBA lending at First Trade, said in a statement.
