181 Washington St., SomervilleA building that housed the Somerville Boys & Girls Club has been sold for $1.5 million.

The 22,309 square foot, special-purpose school/office building at 181 Washington St., Somerville, served as the former Pope Elementary School and then the Somerville Boys & Girls Club. The three-story, brick-and-concrete building contains office space, a recreational room and a gymnasium.

CB Richard Ellis-N.E. Partners LP Executive Vice President Mark Reardon and Senior Associate Jake represented the seller, Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County, and procured the buyer, Somerville Community Corp.

Mechilia Eng, executive director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middlesex County, said in a news release that the proceeds will be used for Boys & Girls Clubs operations.
