A developer of a large Andrew Square multifamily project and a neighborhood distillery are teaming up to distribute free hand sanitizer to South Boston residents starting today.
Core Investments and Grand Ten Distilling will provide 2-ounce bottles of sanitizer at the distillery’s 383 Dorchester Ave. headquarters from 9 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Fridays while supplies last. Core Investments also is delivering the product in gallon bottles to nursing homes and other institutions.
GrandTen Founder Matt Nuernberger converted production to hand sanitizer, manufactured by mixing ethanol with glycerine and hydrogen peroxide, in mid-March and has retained four employees to oversee production.
Core Investments, led by David Pogorelc, received Boston Planning and Development Agency approval in 2016 for the 656-unit Washington Village project near Andrew Square. Boston-based Samuels & Assoc. joined the development team in 2018 and developers submitted modifications to add 90 housing units while shrinking retail space by nearly 17,000 square feet.
This report has been updated to correct the days that sanitizer will be distributed at 383 Dorchester Ave.
