The Mount Vernon Co. has purchased a mixed-used property in Boston’s South End for $5.4 million.

The 7,950-square-foot building at 16-24 Union Park St. includes eight residential units on its second and third floors as well as 3,175 square feet of ground level retail.

Boston Realty Advisors sold the asset on behalf of its client, Union Street LLC.

"The combination of the assets position in the heart of the South End, and its close proximity to the plethora of new developments that are breaking ground, 16-24 Union Park St. is a prime mixed-use asset rarely found in the Boston market," Jason S. Weissman, founder and senior partner of Boston Realty Advisors, said in a statement.
